As a company, it is important to us to make our business practices sustainable and to take responsibility towards the environment and society. Sustainability in this context encompasses both ecological and social aspects.
By ecological sustainability, we mean the responsibility to protect our environment and implement long-term business practices aimed at conserving resources and minimizing emissions. We have set ourselves the goal of reducing our CO2 emissions, improving our energy efficiency and using environmentally friendly materials.
Social sustainability, on the other hand, concerns the responsibility to raise awareness and support our employees, customers, suppliers and business partners with whom we do business. We attach great importance to creating a working environment characterized by equality, diversity, health and safety.
We firmly believe that ecological and social sustainability are inseparable and can only ensure a sustainable future together. Through our commitment to both aspects, we help to protect our environment and society in the long term and ensure our success as a company in the long term.

By consistently using LED technology, adjusting shift times and purchasing electricity-efficient equipment, we have been able to reduce our electricity consumption by around a third. In addition, we have been exclusively purchasing certified green electricity at our logistics site in Landscheid for several years. We are currently examining the feasibility of a photovoltaic system on our plant premises.
Through various measures such as thermal insulation, intelligent temperature controls and selective temperature reductions, we were able to massively reduce our heating energy consumption.
Among other things, we insulated the roofs of our main logistics buildings, installed high-speed doors, replaced the windows of our administrative buildings, and equipped numerous heating systems with intelligent thermostats. As a result, we have been able to reduce our demand to just one-third of previous consumption.
We are currently working to further reduce our heating oil consumption and ideally to zero by switching our heating system to the purchase of local heat from renewable raw materials.
suki is a proud member of Manufacture 2030, a network of companies committed to promoting sustainability and environmental protection in industry. Within this framework, we have prepared an initial environmental balance sheet of our operations. Our goal is to regularly update this balance and continuously improve the result in order to fulfill our responsibility as a member of Manufacture2030.
suki is certified according to ISO 50001, an international standard for energy management. This certification ensures that energy efficiency is permanently on our agenda. The standard provides a systematic approach to the continuous improvement of energy efficiency and thus also to the reduction of CO2 emissions and other environmental impacts associated with energy consumption.
We are actively committed to making our packaging sustainable and continuously improving it. This includes, among other things, reducing the size of our packaging wherever possible. In addition, we offer a low-packaging alternative in the hardware sector with our loose sales concept. By eliminating unnecessary packaging, we can not only reduce waste but also save resources and energy.
The best example is our large plastic can made of polypropylene: it has been awarded "very good recyclability" by Interseroh.
Currently, we are working on steadily and significantly increasing the proportion of recycled material in our packaging and thus minimizing the ecological footprint of our products.
We want to ensure sustainable business. Therefore, we are a member of BSCI, SEDEX, FSC, Manufacture 2030 as well as ECOVADIS. We are currently working to upgrade our ECOVADIS bronze award to a silver award to further demonstrate our commitment to sustainability.
We are committed to ensuring that our suppliers consistently comply with environmental standards. We are currently working on specifying our requirements for our partners in our supplier guideline.
suki relies on electric mobility wherever it makes sense. We use hybrid vehicles or 100% electric vehicles and offer our employees the option of charging (partially) electric company cars at home. In this way, we actively contribute to reducing emissions and protecting our environment.
We attach great importance to fair and sustainable working conditions in our supply chain. Therefore, we have clear and binding supplier guidelines that we regularly review and update.
As a responsible company, we ensure compliance with human rights, appropriate working conditions and environmental legislation at suki and our suppliers. We ensure this, among other things, through regular audits by independent testing institutes.
We regularly review our measures and document them accordingly. Because for us it is clear that we can only be successful in the long term if we make our business practices sustainable and assume social responsibility.
We attach great importance to appreciative and constructive interaction in our company. We formulated our values such as solution orientation, diversity and honesty several years ago and actively implement them in our daily activities.
